The President was styled and built by Studebaker-Packard Corp. who claimed to be the world's largest producer of sports cars. There were three basic models for 1955, the Champion, Commander and the President. The President was the best and most expensive of the three models. The President was offered in five versions, with the two 2-door Hardtop versions being the most desirable today. The President nameplate returned to the Studebaker line in 1955, having been absent since 1942 and was discontinued again in 1958.
